This year marks the 12th anniversary of Peijie Chongqing Hotpot in China.
It is a milestone built from thousands of meals, countless conversations, and memories that stayed with people far longer than the heat of the spicy broth.
Peijie Chongqing Hotpot opened its first shop in 2013 in China, a small 11-table restaurant tucked inside a narrow lane near Chongqing’s Jiaochangkou. From day one, we focused on one thing: serving authentic Chongqing hotpot with a clean beef-tallow broth, handmade ingredients, and service that felt like home.

Over the past twelve years, that small shop grew into nearly thirty self-operated restaurants across China. What shaped Peijie was never the size, but the people who returned year after year. Many left messages that stayed with us.
A guest once wrote:
“Twelve years ago, fresh out of college, I got lost and followed the smell of beef tallow into Peijie Hotpot. The nine-grid broth hit me with chili and Sichuan pepper. That first bite of fresh tripe stayed with me long after I left Chongqing. Even now, I still remember the brown-sugar ice jelly that cooled the heat, it tasted like early autumn in the city.”
Another message read:
“I can’t believe it’s been twelve years. Time flies. I just wish Peijie Hotpot would open more community shops so I can drop by whenever I crave hotpot.”

Amsterdam: A Young Store, but Part of the Same Story
Our Amsterdam Chinatown location opened two months ago, its journey has just begun.
But we want to share this anniversary with our guests here, because you are now part of the Peijie family.
This store follows the same principles as Chongqing:
faithful flavor, clean preparation, and a broth that respects tradition.
We did not change the recipe for Europe.
We brought the original Chongqing broth, the same spicy aroma, the same handmade dishes, and the same standards.
What we offer is simple: the real taste of Chongqing hot pot, served with sincerity.
